UCon using Patch Electrode tested in patients with spinal cord injury
27. February 2023Our ongoing feasibility study using the Patch Electrode is going well.
Our clinical partners (Aarhus University Hospital, Odense University Hospital, and Herlev Hospital) are doing a great job and have recruited 38 of 40 patients, equally distributed between OAB and FI. We see promising results in both patient groups, and no serious adverse events have been observed. Peter Christensen, professor & colorectal surgeon from Aarhus Universitetshospital, states the following: "With the new UCon product from InnoCon Medical, it will probably be possible for us to lower the indications for offering neurostimulation as treatment, and thereby help more patients." Danish Medicines Agency has approved additional 40 patients for the study, so we will continue recruiting and exploring the performance of the UCon device in helping patients suffering from overactive bladder or faecal incontinence. The study is supported by Innovation Fund Denmark.
