March 2022In broadening InnoCon Medical`s international clinical expertise we are happy to announce that Dr. Eloy Espin Basany, University Hospital Vall d'Hebron (Barcelona) and Dr. John Heesakkers, Maastricht University Medical Center have joined our clinical advisory board. They are highly recognized experts in the field of fecal incontinence and overactive bladder. We are looking forward to an intensive and fruitful collaboration.
From 2000 till 2020 Dr. John Heesakkers was a full-time staff urologist at the Department of Urology of the Radboud UMC Nijmegen the Netherlands, heading the Unit of Functional Urology and Neurourology. From 2020 he is the chair of the Department of Urology of the Maastricht UMC, the Netherlands. He chairs the Society of Functional and Reconstructive Urology, a body of the Dutch Association of Urology. Heesakkers is an active member of the EAU, ICS and the AUA. He is a faculty member of the European School of Urology and he was the chairman of the European Section of Female and Functional Urology from 2008 till 2016. Since 2008 he is a principal investigator for the Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences. He is a member of the Scientific Congress Office of the EAU since 2016. From 2019 on he is the treasurer of the ICS (International Continence Society).
Eloy Espin Basany has been a member of the European board of coloproctology since 2009. He is the head of coloproctology unit at University Hospital Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, Spain. He has been general secretary of the ESCP (European Society of Coloproctology) and is now President in waiting of this society. He is also a member of the Education Committee of the ESCP and member of the ESC (European School of Coloproctology). He is vice-president of AEC (Asociacion Española de Cirugia) and is Past President of AECP (Asociacion Española de Coloproctologia). His main interests are colorectal cancer, pelvic floor, robotic surgery.
